Malaysia is one of the best hotspots in the world for game fishing, thanks to the endowment of a massive variety of marine and inland angling destinations. The waters in this Southeast Asian paradise also plays host to countless fish species in both environments.
Having watched River Monsters featuring fish biologist Jeremy Wade for many years, I’ve always enjoyed seeing him fish exotic locations and dragging up large and exotic fish from all over the world. From the bizarre to merely humongous, his catches have always stunned me.

SW Jurassic Fishing Pond is the latest I’ve come across in my quest for new fishing spots from the comforts of home. This place opened very recently, in fact, just a couple weeks ago. While I certainly don’t mind sharing about commercial payponds, I seldom do so unless it’s to share pricing and techniques to be used at ponds I’ve frequented myself.
SW Jurassic Fishing Pond however is of a different breed that your usual saltwater paypond. It is purely catch and release. This is good since it means there’s a constant supply of fish in the pond, and it doesn’t “empty out” as soon as fish are released.
